Sport Psychologist - Danielle Cormier

Danielle, originally from Edmonton, is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. In her research, she is passionate about encouraging athletes to build on their character strengths - rather than focusing on their weaknesses - in sport settings. She is particularly interested in the study of grit and self-compassion in athletes competing at both elite and developmental levels. Danielle has coached volleyball for almost ten years and has been affiliated with the Pandas and Nooks Volleyball Clubs, Ardrossan Jr. Sr. High, and Jasper Place High School teams. Her most recent accomplishment was Head Coach for the Bishop James Mahoney Sr Girls team leading them to a silver medal at the Sask. Volleyball Provincial Championship this past season. She has also been involved as the Director of the Volleyball AB Jasper and Sylvan Lake volleyball summer camps. Danielle has an incredible presence with teenagers and continues to find new interesting ways to connect and help them think and process positive thoughts and outcomes. She is very excited to meet the athletes coming to 2021 Tri Area Warriors Volleyball Club summer camp!
